This page is devoted exclusively to the life and works of the famous American author, poet and critic, Edgar Allan Poe. The essays included here discuss the major influence he has had on the entire literary world and popular culture. I was introduced to Poe by a kindly nun while I was in grammar school. She handed me a worn copy of Poe's Tales of Mystery and the Imagination during library period. I was immediately captivated by the sheer horror and intensity of The Black Cat and The Tell-Tale Heart. I have been hooked ever since.
